Process

We produce oil using the same method as 100 and 200 years ago.

It is a simple mechanical pressing of seeds and nuts.

Over time, equipment and materials have changed but the goal - to produce organic oil - has remained the same:

  • The oil does not heat up during the pressing process and does not exceed room temperature (not more than 25 degrees).

  • Oil does not come into contact with metal because metal promotes oxidation of oil.

This means that all the beneficial properties, both minerals and vitamins, are retained in the oil.

1. The seeds are placed in a filter cloth bag and placed in small barrels under a hydraulic press.

2. Under high pressure, the press slowly squeezes oil out of the seeds drop by drop.

Equipment and materials used:

1. Hydraulic press with a capacity of 54 tonnes. There are 18 presses in production.

2. Barrels for seeds are made of caprolone, a modern inert material used in the medical industry. It does not absorb odours and liquids.

3. Food industry filter fabric.

One drum can hold 2 kg of seeds or nuts and the oil pressing takes 4-24 hours.

As you can see, this work requires patience and time. We only start pressing the oil after the order has been placed, so the customer is sold freshly pressed oil.
