How did we get there?
Sometimes a chance event can change the way you see the world and the everyday things around you.
The first case was when we came across an article that talked about how one of the most popular counterfeit products in the world is vegetable oil.
Another case happened while travelling in Latvia, when a tourist farm offered a tasting of hand-pressed hemp and linseed oil, freshly aged in oak barrels.
These two events got us thinking: why not try our hand at oil pressing?
We searched for a long time for suitable equipment and finally bought and installed our first two presses. First we pressed linseed oil, then hemp oil. We received a fresh and tasty oil with all the beneficial properties that nature has given us, which is not damaged by high temperatures, long storage or the solvents used for refined oils.
Appreciating all the benefits of real cold-pressed oil (which can literally be pressed today and added to a salad immediately), we decided to turn this hobby into a business and included the kids in the process. Today Oilika 100% is a family business where every family member has a role to play. We are delving deeper and deeper into the topic of cold pressed oils and their health benefits. We press the oil ourselves, negotiate with suppliers, order packaging, send orders, come up with concepts and much more. We argue a lot, sometimes we make mistakes, we learn from them, but we always support each other because we are a family.
Our aim is to introduce people to the highest quality cold-pressed oils that retain all their natural and beneficial properties. We produce the oil at room temperature and without contact with metal to avoid oxidation and to preserve its usefulness and freshness.
